God's Fog

To many it’s known as Nagorno-Karabakh. But Armenians call this place Artsakh. It’s been at the centre of a dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan for more than a century.

Ethnic Armenians dominate the territory and broke away from Azerbaijani control after war in the 1990s, but an ugly six-week war in 2020 saw 100,000 Armenians displaced, territory handed over to Azerbaijan and the only route from Armenia closed.

Au Fait Films began filming with those living on the edge of conflict here in 2018. Production on a feature length documentary telling their stories continues into 2023, with a first release scheduled for 2024.
